California is close to enacting a 100 percent renewable energy future. SB 100, a visionary bill authored by Senate Pro Tem Kevin DeLeon, will mandate that the state get all of its electricity from renewable sources by 2045. It's the kind of bold, ambitious bill we expect from California - and the final vote will be close. But it's being held hostage by Assemblymember Chris Holden.
Make TWO calls.
First, call Chris Holden at 916-319-2041 and ask him to hold a committee vote TODAY. The staffer will say NO; but demand a vote regardless. You can say: "The climate is too important to be playing political games. I demand a committee vote."
Then call your Assemblymember and ask for a YES vote. If your Assemblymember is on the list below, ask for a vote in committee, and - of course - her/his YES vote in committee. If not on the list below, simply ask for an assurance of a YES vote on the floor tonight.
If need be: use the tool below and then look up your legislators' phone numbers by district.
You can add: the overwhelming majority of Californians will stand with you in support of a 100 percent renewable-powered California.
