Tell Candidates To Take A Stand on Dakota Access Pipeline

As climate voters, we need to hear where candidates stand on projects like the Dakota Access Pipeline, which are accelerating the planet toward a catastrophic rise in global temperature. And we need to know all candidates’ stance on climate change, renewable energy and tax subsidies to Big Oil, Gas, and Coal corporations ahead of next week’s election.

The Dakota Access Pipeline is receiving worldwide attention, as a Native-led struggle against the expansion of fossil fuel infrastructure through sacred land and water represents one of the most profound demonstrations of climate-change resistance. Despite the intersectional issues associated with the Dakota Access Pipeline—issues of environmental and racial justice, property rights and civil rights—the people have not heard from candidates across the country what their stance is on this pipeline and many others like it, under construction or slated to be constructed.

We the people, concerned climate voters, demand that you let the people know your position on the Dakota Access Pipeline and other fossil-fuel infrastructure projects like it, so that we can make informed choices when we head to the polls through November 8th to #VoteClimate.

We need our SE TN, N GA American Indian/Civil & Revolutionary War historic areas around the Red Clay State Historic park and areas around Harrison Bay State park, and areas around these to be more preserved, protected and natural landscapes, conserved, to help prevent climate change and to protect our natural resources which flow through these areas, such as waters that feed into the waterways of the Coosa, Conasauga, Tallapoosa, and eventually the Mighty Miss. river, and its Delta all of these above and underground waterways impact the environmental attributes of these areas and others, as well as determine the health of various species of fish, birds, and other species, some of which is considered game for hunters, and so on. There are a large variety of people, interests and so on, that whether they know it or not, are more or less dependent upon these areas for their various needs at all kinds of places throughout the southeastern USA, and beyond. These areas need their geography, geology and much more protected from real estate, unclean energy, travel related developments, and so on, to prevent pollution, acid rains, VOC’s and more from being more directly influential in these areas and many others.
