Sign Now:Support the Sanders-Warren Act for Hurricane Maria recovery

President Donald Trump, Majority Leader Paul Ryan, and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell are failing to act to help the people of Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands survive and rebuild from the devastation of the fossil-fueled Hurricane Maria.

The 3.5 million American citizens of Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands have no representation in Congress -- they need all of us to demand action from our elected leaders.

Senators Bernie Sanders of Vermont and Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts have introduced legislation to mobilize all the resources and assets needed to restore electricity, provide clean water and food, a safe haven and access to medical care.

The plan includes a total waiver of the cost of matching funds to receive federal assistance, rejects privatization efforts, and promotes a new resilient, decentralized and renewable energy-based grid.

Please add your name as a citizen co-sponsor. Upon signing, you will receive an email with a link letting you write a letter to Congress, if you are fortunate enough to have representation.

To the U.S. Congress: "Aid our fellow Americans in Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands immediately, and co-sponsor the just and comprehensive relief and recovery legislation introduced by Senators Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren."

As an adjunct instructor and an artist with who’s has up to 6 paintings hang in the Tomedo Museum of Art—with MS, I think I was able to list almost 7,000 on my income tax last year…. I KNOW what it’s like to expend an extreme amount of effort and have superlative results, then end up with Nothing. So Help Puerto Rico!!

It is criminal that we as a nation have allowed the people of Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands to go without water and electricity. They are without the necessary food and medical supplies.

It is a time where renewable energy sources like solar power could change how that country meets its energy needs.

We can make a difference in that nation if Congress passes this bill.
