Ellison vs Exxon

Exxon knew about climate change in the 1970s. And surprise, surprise, they’ve been lying about it ever since -- they’ve spent tens of millions of dollars over the past forty years funding a climate denial industry that keeps the public in the dark and pressures lawmakers not to fix the problem.

We’re talking about what could be the largest case of fraud in human history.

Now it’s time for newly elected Minnesota Attorney General and progressive icon Keith Ellison, to step up. Attorneys General from New York and Massachusetts have been leading the effort to uncover what Exxon knew -- and it’s time for Ellison to join the fight.

Earlier this month, the U.S. Supreme Court rejected Exxon’s last-ditch appeals to keep their lies to the public private. Minnesota needs to join New York and Massachusetts in investigating and holding Exxon accountable.

TELL MINNESOTA ATTORNEY GENERAL ELLISON: INVESTIGATE EXXON AND ITS FELLOW FOSSIL-FUEL COMPANIES FOR DELIBERATE AND MALICIOUS CLIMATE DECEPTION.

While you are at it please launch an investigation of the pressure brought to bear on the MN PUC by Line 3 advocates in their reaching the decision to approve the pipeline on Enbridge’s preferred route. Why was one commissioner in tears when she rendered her decision? Why did a second commissioner publically complain he had a gun to his head in making his decision? How could the commission disregard the findings of the DOC and ALJ? What MN legislators were involved in intimidating DNR and PCA personnel to prevent them from contributing to the discussion? When 96% of public comments were opposed to approving the pipeline, what force led to its approval?

We must stop subsidizing the fossil fuel industry and shift our power supplies from oil, coal, and natural gas to wind, solar, geothermal, and other renewable energy sources. .This a a no-brainer! Minnesota should be leading the way. Thank you Keith!
